Christmas Pic. Failure!

We didn't get a Christmas picture/card out this year, much to my dismay. It was a crazy December and a Christmas pic was just not going to happen! :( We did try, but as you'll see, they didn't turn out. :) Chris and Adam waiting on Allie and I.

And now for all the crazy hair pics......

I guess it was a little too windy for pics down by the water.
"Okay, I give up.... how about one of just Chris and the kids!"

Christmas Tree 2008

On our way to buy the Christmas tree.We usually get our tree the very beginning of December, but this year the kids were sick and it was like the 15th before we even got around to buying one . Eastern NC is not like home where there is a Christmas tree farm around every corner. So, you have to buy a pre-cut tree, and this year because we waited so long we didn't have much to choose from. We ended up with one that has a huge hole on one side and I guess a very crooked trunk. :( The whole tree thing was a total nightmare this year.....

After getting the tree home, lights on, and in the tree stand. We found that the lights (that I had checked before putting on) were out in the middle. Then shortly after that, I noticed that there was water all over the floor under the tree. Yep, the stand had a crack in it. :(
So, out to the store the next day to buy more lights and a new stand. Once back at home we added the new lights and put the tree back up in it's new stand. But this time we could not get the tree straight.
About a week after the tree was all up and decorated we came home one night to find it laying on the floor. To say the least, I wasn't very happy to see broken ornaments all over the floor. But to make matters worse, after Chris had cleaned up the whole mess the tree fell again! This time breaking the rest of my special ornaments - ones that can't be replaced! :( The tree is still standing, (although, I wanted to throw it out before Christmas even got here) let's just hope that next year we have a few less problems! :) Merry Christmas everyone!

Surprise 30th birthday party!!

Chris and Erin surprised (well, it was kind of a surprise!) me with a little 30th birthday party. It was the day after the ball, so not only did Erin and Jason do all the work, but they were watching our sick kids too. :-{ Wow, thanks guys! Thanks everyone for helping me celebrate the big 30!!

30!

THIRTY... an age that sounds so old when you're a kid. And now, I wonder how I got here so fast! It was just yesterday that Erin, Liz and I were playing house and being "mommy's". And now it's for real and I wish I could slow down time. When I stop to think about how fast our kids are growing it brings tears to my eyes. I know it's easy to wish your life away.... "just want to get married.... just want to have kids.... can't wait for the kids to grow up!" And before we know it, they are grown, they are gone, and those sweet years of them being babies is over.
Our kids were sick (and Allie is still getting over it - darn cough!) for a few weeks and I found myself getting frustrated at them for being so needy. But when I stopped and thought about it, who wouldn't want to love and take care of such sweet, crying, coughing, runny nose, clingy, wakes up like 5 times at night.... babies! They're only little once, so I need to enjoy every minute even if it brings some hard long days. Thank God for the little blessings (my kids) he puts in our lives and how they help us grow to be better people. Erin was sweet enough to have us (Allie, Adam and I) over for lunch and dessert on my birthday.

Yummy brownies! I'm not sure why Erin didn't give me 30 candles to blow out! :)
Hot chocolate for everyone!
Thanks Erin for having us over. I'm glad I got to spend my birhtday with you and the kids! :)
Jason and our sick (at the time) little boy! :( Poor baby!

I thought this picture was sweet. Allie likes to look at books at night after I get done reading to her. And lately she's been falling asleep before she's even done with her books! :) Check out how she likes to hang her water from the bed rail. :)

Goodbye PA!

Heading back south!Goodbye beautiful Pennsylvania!
Love you all! Hope to visit again sometime soon!

York Harley Davidson and Thanksgiving with all the Fam!

While in PA Chris, Bethany, Bill and I took a trip down to the York Harley plant for a tour. Chris' bike was assembled in York. They wouldn't let us take pics in the plant, so I only have a few to post of our trip. If you ever want a fun free field trip, take a tour at the Harley plant. It was super cool and very educational! Who knew learning about motorcycles could be so interesting!
