Allie and the "No good, awful, horrible, very bad day!"

Last Thursday evening Allie took quite a fall. She fell down Mom and Dad's basement steps and landed flat on her face. She was not acting right after she fell and continued to cry long after she fell. We decided we needed to take her to the ER. Mom came with me and we headed to Carlisle to the hospital. Once we got there, they did a Cat scan and discovered that she had fractured her skull. They then transferred us to Hershey Medical Center via ambulance. It was a scary ride not knowing what lied ahead. Due to it being a head wound tons of Dr. were waiting for us at the Emergency room. They looked her over with a fine tooth comb. Due to extent of the injury they admitted us and we ended up staying until Saturday morning. It was a long couple of days!! But thankfully I was with family and they took turns being at the hospital with me and helping take care of Adam. Still smiling!!

Uncle Joe was a big help with Adam.
Allie was content to watch cartoons most of the time.

Family, helping pass the time away. I don't have a picture of Mom, but she was there with me most of the time and really helped out with Adam. Doesn't her crib look medieval and scary? :)

Allie with Aunt Liz, watching cartoons, that TV was awesome, it could move anywhere!
Uncle Joe, Allie, Aunt Liz and me. Thank you Mom, Liz, Joe and Caitie for helping out so much! They also brought her lots of goodies and treats to help keep her busy. You guys are great!! Also, thanks to all of you who were aware of what was going on and praying for us.
We are very thankful everything turned out ok, it could have been a lot worse and we are very grateful to God for His guardian angels that He had protecting her! Now I just have to keep her from acting too crazy for the next couple of months.........

One last kiss before daddy takes off! ;(

Me and my handsome Marine!
Good-bye's with Allie.

Sorry Erin, I stole your idea! :)
"Don't leave, daddy!"
"I love you, daddy!"

Kisses for Allie.
Chris left with the advance party - only around 100 Marines. The rest of the Battalion will follow in a week or so.
Chris - middle left
One last hug good-bye....
See you in 7 months!
Allie was so cute/sad yesterday when the buses left. She was waving and yelling "good-bye, daddy" until we couldn't see the bus any longer. :( I know she really doesn't understand time and that daddy won't be coming home at night, but she was a good sport and seems okay with daddy being gone. For now! :)
Chris, we love and miss you. Hope to hear from you soon!

So the countdown begins... Chris leaves tomorrow for Iraq for a 7 (or more) month deployment. Keep him in your prayers as he leaves yet again to protect us and our freedom!

We love you Hon and already miss you! Counting down the days until you are back with us safe and sound! :)

Catching Up!

I can't believe it's been a month now since I've blogged anything about our family. :( I'm such a slacker! :p Chris has been home a lot lately (work is giving them some extra time with family before they leave for Iraq). We always enjoy having him home, but it keeps me from getting to the computer to update. :) I few weekends ago he put in a new bathroom floor in our guest bath. He always does such a nice job (such a perfectionist). I thought you guys would enjoy seeing some of his handy work! :) Before the old floor came out!
More helpers then you know what to do with!

Allie thought she would help with the mortar - when no one was looking!
The finished floor ~ doesn't it look great!

Chris added some trim around the old mirror to give it a finished look. Here is the before....
and after. After this picture was taken we stained the trim, so it's actually darker, but I didn't get a picture of that yet! :)

On to the kids....

Allie watching cupcakes bake. A VERY exciting pass time!

Valentine's Day cupcakes!

Adam enjoying a little taste of daddy's breakfast. :)
My Valentine's gift from Chris ~ An antique rocker.
