Weekend Project

Over the weekend we cut a hole through our kitchen into our breakfast/sun room. Here are some pics of the project. As you can see, we used to hang a mirror above the sink.

Daddy always seemed to have plenty of help, whether or not he seemed to want it!!
Cutting out the back side of the window.

We finally punched through. Check out the old fluorescent bulb that used to hang above the sink. What an eye sore!!
Finishing up the trim on the back side.
Check out Michelle's new light. She is pretty proud of her new kitchen accessory.
We decided to paint the trim on the back side white so it would match better.

I had to include a pic of my newly acquired routering skills on the window sill. I managed to finagle a brand new router out of this project. Michelle keeps on tasking me, but I don't mind if I keep getting new tools out of each deal!!

Haha, that looks great! I bet that it a great way to open up that kitchen even more. I like that lighting fixture too. I need to make it down to your place to stay sometime. Thanks for the update.

Looks SUPER!! What a great idea! Bet you love the light into the kitchen and being able to pass things through! Allie is learning alot of new skills, too! I'm sure the router cost less than it would have cost someone to do the job for you! Great job, Chris!!

Good job Chris. Looks like something I would do. You wouldn,t have been able to have done it if you had,t had some good help.

Thanks for all the positive feedback!! I'm just crossing my fingers and anticipating some close scrutiny by my two "evil" sisters in law. I'd say their names but I'm sure everyone knows EXACTLY who I am talking about!! :)

You all do know that we have an open invitation down here and anyone is allowed to come visit, enjoy the beach, or just hang out. I feel like our guest room could handle a little more use. Come on down Ryan, we are waiting for you!

I certainly hope I am not one of the ones labeled as "evil". You must be referring to Erin and Ashleigh (no offence to you guys, I'm just defending myself). And just for the record, the window looks INCREDIBLE!!!! :)

I don't know WHO you are talking about!! MY girls are not "evil"! :) Even the one you are married to! Even under close scrutiny-you wouldn't be able to find anything wrong with that window! Where is Erin! She loves projects! No comment?

Oh my word!! What have I done to deserve such hostility?? :) I had no idea I was labeled as an "evil" sister in law. (Thanks Liz for pointing the finger at me, your loyalty is so sweet)lol My lack of comments have NOT been because I had nothing nice to say, it has just been a bit crazy around here. Three little kids are really doing their best to take everything out of me. Anyhoo, I think your window looks awesome!! I bet it lets in a lot more light into the kitchen/living room. Now, no more mean comments. I am so tired these days I might start to cry. :)

No apologies yet from the name caller??

Oh wow, I did not intend to create such animosity among the inlaws!! These weak little cries almost sound like guilty consciouses. For pity sakes I was just kidding around. Don't worry, I don't think anyone fits into the "evil" category quite yet. It was all in jest. I just hope it doesn't affect the quality of my Christmas presents. :)

I'm glad you all liked the window though. We are pretty happy with how it all turned out. I'm just waiting to see what Michelle has next on her list on new home improvements.

Come on Chris, you know you wrote those things to get a reaction and you LOVE the reactions you got. You really didn't think we would just sit by and not say anything! :) And yes, you have ruined your chances of any good gifts. lol

Better hope I don't get your name!! :)
